I have a new short story out in Foofaraw!
“The Weapons of World War IV” is my satirical intepretation of Einstein’s famous quote – because war is absurd by definition, and because it should be satirized, always and by all means
I hope you enjoy this 600-word flash story.
(Just now, a friendo informed me that Ray Bradbury’s 1952 story “A Piece of Wood” deals with the same premise. I’ve just read it over here, and it’s excellent. Also, good thing ideas can’t be copyrighted, eh?)

Somehow I missed this one! I liked it better than the Bradbury tale, and that’s saying a lot! Love “these nanny-state rules” 🙂
I can tell you women would be doing a lot more things than running for office if violence were not a threat!
But I have a feeling that in a world of fire and ice, verbal violence would suffice! Psychological torture can be worse sometimes than any other–and people are really good at that.
But pillows–that’s brilliant! And funnier than wood!
Thanks, super-fan – I’m glad you liked it! And that’s high praise indeed, eh.
I went to an open mic event for Montreal writers a few days ago: the 5-minute time limit meant this story was juuuust the right length. I added some pathos and gesticulation to my reading, and they laughed at all the right places and then showered me with praise afterwards, and that was such an unbelievably wholesome experience! My new addiction. 😉
