My new addiction is checking my Kindle Direct Publishing page. Whenever somebody buys a copy of my e-book, the sales counter in my account goes up. It’s fascinating, really: I wake up in the morning, check the sales numbers, go to work, check the numbers again in the evening and voila! – a few more sales, and a few more dollars. The money won’t actually get deposited in my bank account until six months from now (some intertubes are longer and more jammed than others, I suppose), but it’s still fun. In a way, it’s like a pregnant piggy bank that just keeps on growing and growing.
If I had more than just one e-book, this observation process would have been even more fun… *goes off to find motivation*
Well I just purchased your book, and I quite enjoyed it. My suggestion for the next book would be a longer version haha. But keep up the blog either way, I am quite interested how this whole self publishing through amazon/kindle thing works. I never knew such a venue existed until I came to the last page of your book. Now you have me searching for motivation.
Thanks. 🙂 The main purpose of the e-book was to be a portable debate reference (the Treaty of Tripoli in your pocket! haha), but I’ll keep adding more info with every (monthly?) update, so eventually it will become the Atheist’s Guide to the Galaxy. :^D And the best thing about Kindle is that once you buy a book, you can get all the future editions for free – you just need to delete the book from your Kindle/PC/phone/whatever and re-download it. Writing for Kindle is easy – join us! 😉
Actually as an Aussie I had never heard of the treaty of tripoli so that was quite a shocker considering how much blow hards go on about the Christianity of the American founders (although they were deist)… And nah I don’t have the attention span for a whole book yet, just starting a blog is hard enough.
